It had to be said here as well: this new forum, and the new socalm.org, is awesome! Bravo!

It's great and I hope we can use the forum instead of the Yahoo Groups in the future.
How about breaking up the sections at the top level into "Miata Related" and "No Miata Content"? This way the various threads involving framistats, Buffy, etc. can go in a section that won't offend the Miata purists? ;D
Comments?

I think you are right about breaking things up between miata content and NMC. It would definitely help those especially when looking for specific topics regarding the car or club or whatever. I know there are some of you out there that are quite familiar with forums, how it's setup, what topics and categories would be useful. Things like that. Maybe some suggestions are needed here. So what do you all think?

yep, what Brian said. lisa, check out this forum (i think you can browse it as a guest): www.socal-tc-club.com/index.phpnot that i think socalm's forum should be exactly like the tC forum, but it's a good example of how things can be broken apart. i know that the miata.net forums are (or were) confusing as there was too much segmentation (for example, audio was it's own section and each model year has their own section -- so if my post was audio related AND specific to my car, where does it go?)... the basics i'd suggest for here would be: general club/miata discussion tech talk, 1990 - 1997 tech talk, 1999 - 2005 tech talk, 2006+ open forum (nmc) club events for sale/wanted to buy/trades mods/pics of your miata

Hey Zack Thanks for the suggestions regarding segmenting topics and such. I had a chance to look at the Scion forum and it appears to be quite nice. Its given me some ideas. I found out something new today about this forum and that is if I login as administrator, no body can post anything while I am making mods. So I will have to see if I can change these settings or work on the forum during late night hours when there is little activity. This forum thing is fun ;D I enjoy coming back to see what's new

I never checked out the Yahoo Groups forum so I do not know how lively it was but this on seems a little dead. I like the Miata net BB a lot but wish there was more local information so I really hope this one takes off.

Hi 550Joe, This forum is in it's infancy maybe you have some suggestions or a few topics that you'd like to here more info about. It definitely needs some divisions or categories to make it more attractive to those miata enthusiasts . Hopefully, we can ramp up some good exchanges here. Lisa

is there an option which will show "all new posts since last login" or something like that? socal-tc-club.com and clubroadster.net both do this and it's a really handy feature.
if it exists here, then i must be having a blonde moment because i can't find it...

Hi Zack, You can find the [glow=red,2,300]10 most recent posts [/glow]down at the bottom of the Home page in the Statics block. And it looks like under birthdays someone by the name of Bill Bryant is celebrating today!
