Wednesday June 6
Hello,
We are very new to the club (don't even have our club card yet)
We met a gentlemen by the name of Bob in the parking lot of Best Buy in TO a couple of weeks ago or so who introduced us to the club.
We would like to know if there are any members in this are and where do the local, members meets (should they do so) ?
I am from Brussels Belgium and my wife is from London.
We speak french, english and a bit of spanish.
I am a car nut, this Miata is my 405th automobile and of the 3 or 4best cars in the world (I hav owned) two are Mazdas (and I have owned Ferrari, RR, Porsche, Saab, Volvo, BMW's...)
Looking forward to meet many members and participate in future events.

Sure. We'll able to see which day it will be a drive-around. Depends on my schedule too.
Anyway, I keep all your email addresses.
Unfortunatly, I won't have a miata. Maybe a kind of HHR.

Friday morning, June 8
Hi,
The least we can say is that this forum is certainly not overcrowded.
Yes we live in TO area (Newbury Park) and would like to meet members in this area if any.
It seems that only the french speaking ones do answer !
You can reach us by e-mail at usatrade.claude@gmail.com
Thanks
Claude

Hello Claude and Betty, There are several members living in the TO area. Hal and Terry have been members for several years and live in the area. You can contact Hal at this email address ventura@socalm.org . Hal is the ventura rep and services Thousand Oaks. Hal also hosts monthly socials once a month. You would meet many local members attending one of those events. Glad you are apart of our club.....we all have alots of fun and drive great roads!

Friday morning, June 8 The least we can say is that this forum is certainly not overcrowded. A lot of the club still prefers the email list which is for club members only. Personally, I'd rather just have the forum and open to everyone...

Go to: autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/socalm/ and click the "Join This Group" button. I believe it has to get approved by the membership coordinator. It averages 3-5 emails a day although if a hot topic comes up it can get a lot more.

Nicolas, How are you doing? Haven't seen you since we went on Dean's Impromptu down near San Diego. Are you going on Twisted Weekend? We are. Hope to see you there. As far as getting approval for the other forum, as long as you have paid for club membership you will be added to the forum. I know that our membership person has been away for a couple of weeks and has not been able to process all the membership applications. Once processed you will get approved.
Hope to see you on a run soon.
Lisa

Hiyas Lisa ! yes I paid my fee and I have my card. I think I just need a click from whoever is the yahoo group admin ! I am going back and forth with twisted weekend.... I am very very tempted... and I would love to do the mad driving with you guys too! (Since last time I am starting to feel like I made some progress at the wheel!) Andrea has to work on saturday so it would be another selfish present. I am uncertain of how to get at start time in temecula, would probably mean taking a room friday night... Or taking off from west LA at a scary time in the morning gargle.

Hi Nic. The membership coordinator (Marna Wood) is the approver of the membership and they had been involved in all those trips the last month, so she's probably still trying to work her way through all the built-up email. Inevitable in a volunteer club like this...
Until then, you can still read all the messages by going to the Yahoo site and looking at the "Message History" box, which has all the emails going back to 1999.

Hey Brian ! I know how these things go, having myself managed large communities for many years. I have a lot of respect for anyone putting energy and time in making things work, so I have plenty of patience ! It seems any access to the messages/message history on the yahoo group is unavailable for unvetted accounts. No problemo, Marna was very quick to answer my emails in the past I know she must be busy ! I can wait Still cant decide what to do with twisted weekend... We may skip the saturday drive and show up late saturday night at the hotel haha.
