Marvelous mountain/foothills road, starting from Sequoia/King's Canyon national park's north entrance on 180 HW, going south towards Woodlake - Lemon Cove. Travelled on a perfect spring day early april, on the end of a saturday afternoon between 5.30 and 6.30 pm. Road surface condition: Mostly very good, minus a few mountain sand/dust spills from previous rains in some of the first turns down the mountain. Did not meet a single other car on it going in either directions. The first part of the road is an endless chain of short tight turns and very short visibility/readability on the road. I barely went past third gear, had to go second a couple times. Not a road for racing ! I advise to not travel this road with rain as it could make travel dangerous, and avoid like pest on snow/icy conditions - that would turn the road into a death trap. The landscape scenes that unfold through this road are absolutely gorgeous. These are pastorals scenes with rolling hills and far views patched with small fields, lush green grasses sprinkled with wild flowers and ancient trees. The air felt pristine. Our short visit there made us want to buy a piece of land to retire there !!. I would say this countryside looked very close to a pastoral paradise. At two thirds of the road southward there is a group of homes and farms, and what looked like a nice inn/restaurant/bar. Did not stop because we wanted to see more scenery still !
