I'm a new owner of a '99 emerald green soft top, 60k miles. It has standard black/grey interior and a black top (in need of replacement). I'm considering adding a roll bar for safety and a new top.
Can someone advise on a functional roll bar that still looks nice?
Has anyone seen a tan top on an emerald mica car with dark interior? Hows it look?
Essentially I'm looking for advice on what I can do to the car, add to it, etc to enhance it's look and function.
I'd like to spend around 1500 total.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

There are a lot of good roll bars out there. Hard Dog makes a whole bunch (one of the more well-known firms). Here's one I like: www.bethania-garage.com/deuce.htmIf you come by any of the Miata events you'll probably find people with roll bars installed that you can look at.

Boss Frog & Hard Dog both are nice. Boss Frog has the best looking double hoop, Hard Dog has the nicest setup for open track, and offers a harness bar, which is nice if you're planning to add harness belt & racing seats. The Miata has tight headroom clearance, and if you're looking for good rollover protection, get the tallest bar that will fit. The Boss Frog Maxx will fit under the factory soft top, and some, but not all, aftermarket soft tops, but WILL NOT fit under a factory hardtop.

I put a new top on my 2000 miata in Jan. Bought it on ebay for 400.00 with heated glass window. Great deal & makes a big difference
